Firenze

Another beautiful day we had during my Eurotrip last June
was in the city of Florence or Firenze in Italian.
Arriving at the train station from Venice in the afternoon
and quickly ditching our luggage at the hotel,
we wasted no time to begin our tour of the city

I can still remember how I felt when I first saw the Duomo,
I couldn't believe what I was staring at, at all.
Can something so beautiful be real?
I had to pinch myself a couple of times

to be sure that I was not dreaming:)

After convincing ourselves that the building is indeed real
and capturing tons of pictures with it,
we slowly headed to the famous Piazza Della Signoria.
I was really excited to see Michelangelo's David
after feasting on his amazing work at the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican City

and I was not disappointed (although it was only a copy)

We then made our way to another picturesque sight,
the very much talked about Ponte Vecchio.
We passed the many jewelry shops to the middle of the bridge
and from there we looked below the waters, marvelling at the beauty before us

We had the sweetest little meal at one of the cafes after the bridge,
it was a narrow entrance that leads to a lovely outdoor garden patio.
The food and service turned out to be really good,
for which I'm so glad

After dinner, we walked back to Ponte Vecchio
and stopped to listen to the street performers.
Then, we sat in silence as we watched the sun slowly sets
and disappears into the waters

And that was the end of another perfect day we had.
It was unfortunate that we only had one day to spend in Florence
but I know I shall treasure all these unforgettable memories
which are mine to keep for years and years to come

p.s. I'm sorry if I bore anyone with my travel stories, but I find it's a good way for me to document my trip.
So I hope you all won't mind very much:)

Such gorgeous photos!! You two take the most lovely trips together.

One day I will go there, I still have distant relatives who live there, my great grandfather came from there to the U.S. when he was twelve.
