Umbrella Sky

Just the other day, I found my little umbrella necklace hidden away in my jewelry box.
I've totally forgotten I even had this necklace!
I haven't worn it for the longest time because its clasp at the end was broken.
For now, I merely tied a knot behind it to solve the problem momentarily.
The bow earrings are another favourite of mine. I bought it for myself last Christmas,
and they always remind me of pressies and Christmas of course!

And here I am in one of my favourite prints, the tartan

Umbrellas are kind of romantic, aren't they?
Especially when they come in bright colours and unique designs.
There's certainly something picturesque about
holding an umbrella as you walk in the drizzling rain across a quiet street.
I also think the kind of umbrella you own may shed some light on the person you are.

I already fulfilled my dream of having a clear umbrella earlier this year,
and now, I'm still dreaming of a bright red one which is in my mind ever since I watched
this beautiful Hongkong movie 'Turn Left, Turn Right' in 2004. The main female protagonist's umbrella was in the loveliest shade of red in the movie. (I'm thinking of doing a post on the movie next)

I'm sure a bright red umbrella will come in handy as a lovely prop in any future photo-takings
and of course, for those quiet walks in the rain

What kind of umbrella do you have or wish to have?

p.s. Over the weekend, I've been wearing a big smile thanks to Katrina of Pugly Feet. I won her Just Because Giveaway: Lula #9 magazine and she even generously threw in the latest Fudge magazine on top of Lula! I was really ecstatic, so thanks again Katrina:)

p.p.s If you're interested, Sharon from My Passport to Style featured my tartan skirt in her Style Dispensary series a while back ago. Click here to check it out!

Your outfit is lovely, so whimsical.
The umbrella pictures are also lovely.
I agree, there's something rather beautiful about umbrellas in the rain.
I have wanted a parasol for years, because I love seeing ladies in films twirling them above their heads in the sunshine. :)

I have a love for umbrellas as well.
For me, they remind me of being a child, because my mother had a pink umbrella I would carry around.
Mine is a clear bubble umbrella, much like the one in the first picture.
:)

Also, your outfits are always so feminine and lovely.
The bow earrings are so cute!

Such an adorable necklace! I love jewellery with sweet unexpected charms.

My dream umbrella is more like a parasol. A lacy white one, to be exact! A little bit 'My Fair Lady'.

I think I have seen the movie you mentioned. I will wait for your next post to see if I remember :D

I've got a red umbrella that I bought at London last winter... it's so cute, because it has some hearts and white polka dots... I love it! I'll show you one of these days, if it rains here!

I want one of those super amazing, clear umbrellas that are almost like a half-sphere - protecting your hair, looking super cool, and you can still see. Heck yes. I think a clear one like that would be adorable with some little black hearts on it, as well.

PS: Lemme say, adorable outfit.

Great post, Sher. I agree with you, umbrellas are definitely romantic. The colourful ones are my favourite! I really like your outfit. The necklace looks great on you and the skirt is also very pretty.

To answer your question, I will be returning home in December and I'll get to see my boyfriend shortly after Christmas. We live in different cities so no matter where we are, we're always in a long distance relationship. It's tough and I hate it but I also believe it is worth it. I just want to encourage you to hang on. Your boyfriend is very far and he'll be away for quite some time, but I really wish you all the best. I think long distance can work and I root for couples who are going through the same thing as me!
