Zara was also kind enough to take some time out to share a lil bit more about herself and her lovely designs in this little interview.
♥ Tell us a little bit of yourself and how you ended up becoming a jewelry designer/maker?
I am a mother of two children and after having my second child I decided to pursue my dream of becoming a designer. I did go to the London College of Fashion but dropped out as I was not confident enough with my designs. I decided to make jewellery as I used to love making jewellery when I was a teenager and I think it is important to start a career in something you love doing.
♥ Where do you draw inspirations from for your designs?
My inspiration comes from anything vintage, from old houses to old movies and books. I will get an idea then search everywhere I can to find materials to make that design. Sometimes I will buy vintage beads and gems and keep them for months until I get inspiration to use them in a design. I currently have lots of designs in the making but looking for that missing piece to make it perfect:)
♥ What is your favourite jewelry that you own?
I only wear my own designs and my favourite piece would be my flying cockroach collection. I have attached my favourite, it is my black winged cockroach with vintage swarovski eyes. I love this piece as it is so unique and eye catching, I like to be different and even though I hate cockroaches I actually love my cockroach pendants. It is like my little pet:)
♥ What future designs/creations would we be able to look forward to from your shop?
I can't really say but I have some big news coming soon. This will involve a lot of changes but I will announce my exciting news on my facebook page and twitter as soon as I can:)
