Love Letters

When was the last time you receive
a love letter in the most conventional method?

I still keep my old love letters
(from various parties and points of my life)
in a box hidden away in my storage.

Over the years,
though feelings and the ink on the letters may have faded,
I still treasure the memories I have
upon receiving each of the
love letters.

Do you remember
the thrill of seeing a long-awaited
love letter in your mailbox?

The surge of impatience you have
as you hurriedly tear open the envelope,
knowing it will bring you the very
words and thoughts you long to hear...

The butterflies in your stomach fluttering
as you slowly absorb each word in the letter,
all- so-tangible evidence of the warmest feelings
and sweet love...

You savor each sentence written
while trying to imagine them being spoken
in the voice of your beloved...

Smiling to yourself
as you read word by word carefully,
so that you won't miss out any detail...

Beholding the face of your beloved
in your mind
as you regretfully, come to the end of the letter...

then, sighing with contentment,
at the joy a simple letter can bring.

Oh, I wish for more love letters
in the world today...

and hope that in my life,
I will never stop receiving love letters

I love receiving hand-written letters, the intimacy is differently meaningful than the so-modern technology stuff. And your post is wonderful, with those lovely photos and beautifully written words... I adore your blog. :)

ps : i've added you to my friend list, hope it's okay!

I was busy packing my cabinet & throwing out stuff when i chanced upon letters & cards (signed sealed & delivered with love to me by frens, family, ex-es) from way back. Reading through them years after brought back heaps of memories! Its a pity not many people write love letters/cards anymore these days. I wish my current bf would write me 1, but he thinks it's old-fashioned! Urgh~~

I think we could very well be best friends! I love romantic posts like that since I'm a romantic myself! I often write love letters and send postcards because a written word just means so much more than just an email or a text.
The pictures you posted are lovely! xxoxoxoxo

i have only received one love letter. my boyfriend and i live in two different countries, with sea separating us. he decided to write me one day, so we could do it the old way. it was the best thing it could have done. handwritten love words are so much more meaningful, so much more romantic. i think it adds a certain magical touch to it.

I've collected and continue to collect all of the letters and cards from my family in Ukraine, and my best friend in France. It is such a joy! no e-mail can compare to a good old letter/card :)

I've never received one, but I've written several. I never sent them though. It was just something that I need to get out of my system ...

I really liked this post.

These pictures are sooo pretty! I love the look of 'old' letters, all yellow with age wrapped up in ribbon! I've never had a love letter. I've had lots of sweet notes but never a letter. Maybe one day! I want to be like Coco Chanel and carry one around in my handbag.
