A new beginning

A new year, a new beginning, a fresh start.
Sending all my positive vibes, best wishes and hope to each of you for a wonderful year ahead of us. 2013 will be nice to us!

Together with my new year greetings, I thought I'll include some pictures of our shenanigans on Christmas eve. I was perfectly happy, dressed in this gorgeous, sparkly blue dress from Topshop, which seemed like it was made for me. Husband even went all out with the cutest bow tie (though I've managed to ruin it when doing the laundry lol).

Thank you, thank you so much for all your kind words on my previous post, it does mean the world to me to know that there are people out there who cares. It warms my heart so very much and I wish I could give each of you a big bear hug

Bittersweet

It's been over a month since I last posted and it feels rather weird now, coming back here after so long. To explain my absence this time, the story began in October when husband and I were pleasantly surprised with the news that we were expecting our first baby. This led to us dreaming up and reading up all kinds of baby related stuff, to only be reduced to having anxiety and worries over the pregnancy in the last couple of weeks. It all ended with a very disappointing and painful miscarriage in early November. Which explains why I've taken all this time to basically heal from this experience and to recover from it all.

As it has only recently felt all right to start caring about frivolous stuff again, I find myself really missing the blog. And I think it misses me too. With Christmas just around the corner, it's hard to feel sad or depressed really. Even though this had to happen, I know that I'm already blessed far beyond what I could ever wish or hope for. Hope you're all doing well and spending time with your loved ones

My other love

Aside from fashion, I do have something else I'm equally passionate about, FOOD!
Yes, the fiancee and I are those kind of people who definitely live to eat and we love discovering new places to have meals together. Especially when we travel! Here are some of the mouthwatering, yummy things that we sampled in Greece and Cornwall.
In Greece, I had the Fanta orange drink for almost every meal, I loved it. Wish we had it here!
We also had gyros every other day in Athens, almost all the shops serve this:)
Smoked bacon over grilled potatoes, so good!
This pic just proved that we are total meat lovers! And I absolutely think Greeks make the best meat in the world!
I love dining out in Greece, apart from the very good service, they sometimes surprise you with free desserts such as this delicious chocolate syruped crepe! A-mazing:)
And I'm proud to say I've tasted the best ice cream in the world, the Cornish ice cream! Ahh, I wanna go back there just to have another one:)
Steak with fresh prawn in a lovely restaurant in St Ives
While the boy enjoyed some grilled mackerel with rice:)

I really can't wait for him to come back so that we can go on our eating escapades again!
This is just one of the simple things we enjoy in life

Flowers from the same garden

How very prim and proper I felt in this somewhat victorian inspired outfit. If there was an era which I would have to choose as my favourite, I would definitely pick victorian. Sometimes I do feel like I've been born in the wrong place and wrong time. So I'm glad I found a way to wear my old cameo pin, to add a dash of victorian in this simple outfit.

Do you have a period in time which you wish you were living in?

Of two sisters, one is always the watcher and one the dancer ~Louise Glück

My sister decided to join me for some fun in this little photoshoot and we ended up doing silly sisterly poses like these. If the quote was true then my little sister would be the dancer and I would be the watcher because she has been lighting up my life with laughter and happiness ever since the day she was born. I cannot imagine living without her, we've been sharing the same room since we were kids up till now. We could very well be twins, if it were not for the 3 years age gap! She's my best friend, my best listener, my best shopping partner, and I know that no matter what life decides to throw at me, everything will be much easier to bear with her sunshiny smile and crazy jokes in my life. And of course, I must not forget my patient brother who puts up with our silly antics most of the time and willingly took these lovely pictures of us.
So here's to sibling love ♥

p.s. My lovely friend, Sharon is having a special giveaway of 2 tour tickets for the Sex and the City Hotspots Tour Giveaway. Be sure to click here to join! The closing date is May 3nd 2010.

Hard to say goodbye

Today I had to say goodbye to my bf. It seemed like only moments ago yesterday we had the loveliest 'new year afternoon tea' at this place called the banquet. Sipping hot chocolate and hot tea, enjoying the tastiest slice of almond suji (sugee) cake and gazing into each other's eyes with a tinge of heaviness in our hearts because we knew it would be our last full day together. It has been a mad frenzy of activity-packed days spent with the bf. From the moment I woke up, almost every minute was spent having silly and gleeful adventures with him (which you will see pics and more pics of soon!). Now that he's gone, I can't help but feel a sense of lull in the air and I wondered to myself how did I used to spend my days when he's not around.

2009 has packed up its bags as well and I'm left amazed at how fast 2010 has replaced it.
It hasn't been an easy year for me, the lowest points for me were when I lost my beloved aunt to cancer in early March and my dad had to undergo a heart bypass operation shortly after that. It was also the early struggling period of my long distance relationship with the bf. We went through 9 months of separation before we were reunited in June and embarked on our Eurotrip, which could very well be the highlight of all highlights in my life so far. So even though I've had my share of pain and sadness in the past year, I still thank God for all the blessings in my life, especially my family and my darling of a bf who has always been there for me. I don't think I could ask for anything more than that.

With that said, I'm looking forward to see what 2010 has in store for me. And I'm happy to be starting a new countdown till my next meeting with the bf in June for our next trip to Greece! I hope you guys will stick around to see me through each step of the way, thank you so much for all the lovely comments and support, I truly truly appreciate them

Down the memory lane

I love going through old photo albums. I can spend all day looking at old pictures!!
Looking at my childhood pictures makes me wish I can turn back the time
and relive those carefree moments again.
Perhaps I'm feeling slightly nostalgic at the thought of being yet another year older.
Somehow time moves faster now that you're an adult.

How I wish I can hold on to every moment just a little bit longer!

So are you ready to take a trip down memory lane with me?

Hehe, sadly I had no hair when I was a baby!

I'm so glad the situation improved by the time I reached 2!
I remembered being so happy with my choo choo train cake!!

Why, hello there!
Blink blink;)
My 5th birthday party.
I love how my mom used to put pretty bows in our hair.
And I also found an old engagement pic of my mom, isn't she pretty?
I wish she still have this big floppy hat and the dress!

Since it's the Thanksgiving weekend, I have a list of 10 things I'm thankful for:

1. My family
and my bf (whose coming home soon!)
2. My new camera
3. The long weekend (yay!)
4. My Miss Dior Cherie perfume & all the pampering given on my birthday
5. How I met your mother (I just started watching season 4)
6. Good health (I will exercise, I will)
7. Christmas!
8. My upcoming Greece trip next year:)
9. My Eurotrip last June.
10. Last but not least, all of my blog friends!

What are you thankful for?

P.S There's still time to enter my angel wing ring giveaway if you haven't!!

Glitter

Found this glittery cardigan in a pile of clothes that used to belong to my aunt Lydia.
And in my mind, I paired it up with this old leather skirt I have hiding in the closet.
(Nat, you might recognize this?)

It's been 5 months since my aunt has passed on.
When will the pain of losing a loved one go away?
